About Denise

Denise Rushing has led and advised some of the world's most innovative energy technology companies, accelerating the market adoption of clean, efficient energy and helping to disrupt a $6 trillion industry. A pioneer in the energy industry, she launched award-winning energy efficiency initiatives adopted by utilities around the world.
Realizing that humanity’s circumstance requires a deeper response, Denise began exploring ways to transform human awareness of Planetary imperatives. In 2003, she co-founded Rockhaven Ecozoic Center. an eco-spiritual center in the Midwest, now celebrating its seventeenth year.
Denise served two terms on the Lake County Board of Supervisors where she championed two of the largest public solar energy installations in the western United States, leading Lake County to two California environmental leadership awards . She is perhaps best known for her environmental advocacy and community revitalization, and is a three time best-selling author on the topic of community and cultural transformation. Denise is also facilitator for Pachamama Alliance's Awakening the Dreamer symposium and she writes and speaks on topics of The Great Work, Living a New Story, Renewable Energy, and Re-enchanting Planet Earth.
Denise Rushing holds a Bachelors Degree in Environmental Engineering from Stanford University, a Masters Degree in Culture and Spirituality from Holy Names University, and is a registered mechanical engineer. She is especially proud to be a certified organic farmer and ecological designer, and she loves teaching, writing and implementing permaculture on her farm in Upper Lake, CA.
